Easter DIY Lunchables!

My kids have really been hit hard over the last several weeks with illness. My youngest has really had it rough. For four weeks we spent a lot of time missing school. I was actually very thankful for all of our snow days this year. They made it possible for her to be home while ill and me not feel like I had to send her back to school before she was completely well. Our latest illness hit Friday morning at 4:30 A.M. It was awful and it hit the youngest first. The dreaded stomach bug found its way in. So I spent my weekend waiting to see who would be next. Sunday morning my middle girl came down with the yuck. It is Monday night and here I sit once again to see who will be the next victim. I thought my son was coming down with it but so far he hasn't. We shall have to wait and see what the night and the morning bring. So today I just made two Easter themed DIY Lunchables. One for my youngest who went back to school today and one for the boy in case he makes it in to school tomorrow.

The youngest girl has ham shaped bunnies, chick shaped provolone, a clementine, carrots and cracker rounds from Trader Joe's.

The boy has ham shaped Easter eggs, chick stamped pepperoni, cracker rounds, grapes and a clementine.

Yumbox Lunch!

I have been using these Yumbox lunchboxes for about a month now. They make packing lunch really easy. Todays lunches took all of five minutes to make. Two lunches in five minutes. Now that's fast!

The girls have basically the same lunch. Just a couple of differences. Both girls have Trader Joe's crackers, Applegate ham, half an orange, blackberries, carrots, cucumbers and cashews. The youngest also has a few sugar snap peas.

Like I said these lunches took five minutes. Less time than it took to write this post.

Simple & Easy Lunch!

It has been quite some time since my last blog post. Over the last four weeks we have had eight snow days. When that was over I had one little girl who just couldn't shake a yucky virus. Then everyone was feeling much better. Today mommy, daddy and the boy aren't feeling well. We can't catch a break. But I made lunch for tomorrow anyway. It was EASY! Who doesn't like easy? Here is tomorrows Simple & Easy lunches.
 We used our  Urban EasyLunchboxes!

In this lunch: Half an Applegate ham sandwich, carrots, cucumbers, sugar snap peas, an orange, blackberries, cashews, a cheese pack and Trader Joe's brand of animal crackers. (I love those. They have no artificial anything and no high fructose corn syrup.)

If you have been with me for awhile you will already know that my boy does not eat veggies. Recently I decided that to not offer them was a shame. Even if he doesn't eat them I have done my job by offering and who knows, Maybe one day he will come home and say he ate some of them. A mom can hope. He has a mini version of the same as above minus the cheese and cashews. I didn't want to overwhelm him.

This lunch has a half of a ham sandwich, cucumbers, carrots, an orange, blackberries, cashews and Trader Joe's cat cookies for people. These three lunches were a snap to throw together.

Cyberman: The ABCs of Raising Well-Rounded Geeklings Series!

Hello there. Today I am teaming up with other bloggers in a series from Suzy Homeschooler called: The ABCs of Raising Well-Rounded Geeklings. It is a awesome series where us nerdy folk get to share some of our geeky passions. Some of us homeschool. Some of us make crafts and have businesses. Some of make cute bento lunches, like me! We all have our loves and we love to blog about it. You might be surprised to hear that not only do I love the bento lunches but I also am proud to say I am a huge fan of Doctor Who. Now, The Doctor is only one of my passions. I have many others but today we will focus on my interest in The Doctor.

Today I won't only be serving up a bento but also an original piece of artwork by my oldest geekling  to go along with my theme. I picked the letter C to do a post on, and, for C, I picked Cyberman! Now Cyberman is in several episodes of Doctor Who and it is one crazy powerful machine made of human and robot. Most of the Cybermen are made when the human is under the influence of a hypnosis of sorts. They are tricked into becoming Cyberman and all of their humanity is stripped. They then seem to follow a warlord type leader and do his dirty bidding. Usually that means they DELETE you! Or they trap and trick you into becoming one of them. First, I want to share my inspiration for my bento snack box.

Original Artwork by The Lovely Nerd

Isn't this so awesome? She is a very talented young lady. Not only does she have excellent art skills she also writes book reviews at The Lovely Nerd! Head on over and check her site out!

Now this is my Cyberman bento snack box. It was only fitting that my daughter get to eat it. In this bento she has a Cyberman peanut butter sandwich and Trader Joe's fruity cereal o's. This is how I see her picture in food. Food Art!

Thanks for stopping by and head on over to Suzy Homeschooler to check out the rest of the series!
